November 2024 Volunteer of the Month - Shelby
Shelby is our featured volunteer for November because she is a kind and caring soul who has gone out of her way to help an animal in need. Shelby was like every other member of our community, she had her own dogs and loved them, and knew there was a problem in this county with stray dogs. When she found one on the side of the road, she decided to BE THE CHANGE and actually stop to pick up that dog and foster her. Julie, the mangy, sickly pitbull is now so healthy and full of life, just waiting for her forever home. Shelby wasn’t necessarily prepared to take on a random dog, but she saw the need, and jumped right in. As a result, Julie will never be in the position she was in again. We need more Shelbies in the world 😊 Here is a bit about her:
“I’ve always loved animals. I grew up in foster care and I have always wanted to be a foster parent, I just never realized it would be for dogs and cats. I’m very passionate about helping animals and my dream in life is to have a rescue of my own. Nothing has brought more joy to my life than helping an animal in need and watching them get better.”
We are so thankful for Shelby and that she took the time to save a life. We appreciate you so much!!!
