January 2023 Volunteer of the Month - Laura
To kick off this year, we want to give a huge shout out to Laura and her whole family for being amazing volunteers! They adopted a cat from us in 2021 and in 2022 decided they wanted to get more involved. Please read a bit about this great family:
My name is Laura Dudley and I live with my husband (Kyle) and two kids (Jessica, 17 and Justin, 15). Our whole family loves animals. My husband grew up in rural Indiana and his grandpa had a farm with horses, rabbits, chickens, cats, and dogs. I grew up with dogs and a cat. Since being married, we've always had at least one dog and cat. Currently, we have our lab-shepherd mix (Shadow), 3 cats (Willy, Eclipse who is a Paw Patrol alum, and Hazel who is our foster fail), 2 bearded dragons, 2 tree frogs, 2 beta fish, a crested gecko, and a chubby frog. We've thought about fostering for a while and are so glad we took the plunge! I'm so thankful we can help foster animals until they find their forever homes! It is so rewarding to watch them come out of their shells, learn to trust, and discover that life can be fun when you are safe. I hope we can continue to foster and volunteer for many years!
