February 2020 Volunteer of the Month - The Van Heulens
Our February volunteers of the month are The Van Heulens, a family who knows what it means to serve their community. Their kids are always with them at events and learning how to give back, which is such an amazing gift to them. We are so thankful this family found us, and even though we have to talk Tracy out of trying to adopt every one of her foster dogs, we couldn’t be happier with having them as a part of our team! Here’s a little bit about the family:
“In January 2019 my husband and I wanted our family to give back. We began volunteering for Paw Patrol Dayton and we had done the impossible ~ actually found something that all five of us agreed on – our LOVE for dogs! What started with volunteering our time evolved in August of last year into both volunteering and FOSTERING dogs in need. . . We cannot describe how good this has been for our souls! We are so THANKFUL for the opportunity to be part of such an AWESOME rescue! Over 600 dogs saved by this rescue and 8 of those sweet b abies our family has personally fostered! This has been one of the best things for our family – it has taught us so many things – patience, unconditional love, and compassion.
It is our responsibility to show these fur babies that humans are GOOD peeps and that in return they are deserving of love and touch! We have had the opportunity to bond with other Paw Patrol volunteers that share our same passion and meet and stay connected with 7 amazing families that made a commitment to adopt and love our fosters the way we do! Each one of these sweet babies have taken a piece of us with them (except Kai, he is our foster fail, who we adopted) ☺. Thank you to this rescue for bringing our family closer, continuing to teach us all things dogs, and providing the support and friendship needed to do good in the community!
Thank you again for all you do to help dogs in need find loving homes!
