September 2021 Volunteer of the Month - Jacquie
Jacquie is one of our newer volunteers this year, and she has been a God send! She fosters dog, cats, helps us answer emails, transports, helps with events, and on and on. She is always eager to help in any way she can and appreciate that can-do attitude more than anything! Here is a bit about Jacquie and her family:
Over the years I have lived in Florida, Alaska, Texas, and now Ohio. I am proud to say we finally live in our forever home. Knowing we will not have to move every 4 years I am able to put down roots I know I can grow. I have been married to my amazing husband for 13 years and I have two kids who are the center of my world! I am blessed because I get to be a stay-at-home mom for my kids. They do drive me crazy from time to time, but I would not have it any other way.
Growing up my family had many animals. From fish and turtles to cats and dogs. One of the many things my dad passed on to me is to love animals. Dogs happen to be my favorite because they are always there for you and ready for a snuggle.
Volunteering is something I really enjoy doing. I have volunteered at quite a few different places. Usually, it had some tie into whatever base we were stationed nearby. This time I decided to find something different. Find something that I am really passionate about and can have an impact with on a daily basis. I decided to foster not only because I love animals, but because I want to show my kids exactly how animals should be treated and taken care of. I don’t have to teach them much because they seem to be a natural at it. I recently started fostering and I have already fallen in love!
Thank you again so much, Jacquie, for everything you are doing to help animals in our community. You give of your time selflessly and generously, and are a wonderful example for all those around you!
