March 2024 Volunteer of the Month - Don
“Volunteering with Paw Patrol Dayton has been an incredibly rewarding journey for me, stemming from the very first event I attended with the team. From the outset, I was struck by the genuine warmth and dedication of everyone involved, from the staff to the volunteers.
Learning that many of them dedicate 40-50 hours a week to their day jobs and still find time to support these animals was truly inspiring.
As I got more involved and had the chance to speak with some of these amazing individuals, I felt compelled to contribute in any way I could. It was my daughter, Flora, who adores kitties and eagerly encouraged me to join her in becoming a caretaker. With her infectious
enthusiasm and the welcoming atmosphere at Paw Patrol Dayton, it was an easy decision to make.
Being a caretaker has been an absolute joy, filled with laughter, cuddles, and the satisfaction of knowing that I'm making a difference. I've also been fortunate to work alongside incredible people like Ricki, the Cat Coordinator, who consistently goes above and beyond
to support me and ensure the smooth operation of our efforts. Her guidance and assistance have been invaluable, making the whole process seamless and enjoyable.
One of the most fulfilling aspects of this experience is helping these cats find loving homes. The feeling of seeing them go to their forever families is indescribable. Every cat we help is a testament to the power of compassion and community, and I'm grateful to be a part
of such a meaningful endeavor. Together, we're making a difference one paw at a time.”
We are so thankful for Don and his willingness to use his business to help homeless animals find their forever homes. Stop by the store to say a big thank you in person, use the doggie wash station to get your pup fresh and clean, and spend a few minutes with the adoptable cats in the store!
