Adopt a pet

Interested in our rescue pets? The process of adopting a pet from us is simple.

  1. Browse our Adoptable pets list.
  2. If you see one you’re interested in, click the button to apply for that pet.
  3. We will process your application.
  4. After you are approved, we will schedule a time for you and the pet to meet each other!
  5. In the event that you don’t choose the pet after all, you will still be an approved adopter and able to schedule other Meet & Greet sessions.
Our rescue is an all (unpaid) volunteer organization. For each application we receive it takes us approximately 3 hours to review, contact all personal and veterinary references, and make a decision on approval of it. Depending upon volunteer availability, this can take us several days to accomplish, especially when we receive many applications or if we have difficulties reaching references. Your patience is appreciated! If you don't see a pet that you are interested in right now, feel free to fill out an application and get pre-approved to reduce your wait time when you do see a pet you like.

Marky Mark

Marky Mark is an approximately 9 year old beagle mix who, yes, is the lead singer of Marky Mark and the Barky Bunch! Not to be confused with Mark Walberg from the Funky Bunch. If you do adopt Marky Mark you will have full access and backstage passes to every concert that they bark at. This will include bus access while touring which is filled with all the good vibrations. (For legal purposes, Barky Bunch's band member Hector "The Booty Inspector" only sniffs other dogs, humans will not be affected.) When he is not on tour, Marky Mark loves to stay at home laiiiiiid back (with his mind on his money and his money on his mind, of course). He loves his orthopedic doggie bed. He is house and crate trained. He is claustrophobic and does not like cars or tight spaces, so you must be willing to share all aspects of your bed with this pop star. He would be best with a house that is calm, such as no children; his nerves are shot from all that touring. Marky Mark is so worn out from being on tour, he just wants someone to relax and watch tv with, although an occasional stroll around the neighborhood to check out his groupies is appreciated. The cutest thing about him is his front paws are pointed outward due to a genetic deformity, but it doesn't stop him from shaking his thang! If you are interested, please apply at pawpatroldayton.com. He comes fully vaccinated, microchipped, and neutered. To celebrate the dog days of summer, we are having an adoption special on our adult bully/bully mixes which we suspect Marky Mark may have a bit of bully in him. Therefore his adoption fee will be $85. His adoption fee will return to 175 dollars on August 16th. PS if you work for Calvin Klein, please stop calling us. Marky Mark only wears SilverPAW, thank you.

Adoption fee: $175

Gypsy Rose

Hi! I am Gypsy Rose ?? and looking for a soul mate. I've done the dating scene but I am ready to find Mr. (or Ms.) Awesome so I can give someone everything I have for the rest of my life. I am a 5 year old, 67 pound, bully breed mix looking for love! I prefer athletic men, but I swing both ways, so both men and women may apply. I am a BIG kisser that enjoys affection, so if you don't like PDA, keep scrolling, honey! While I enjoy time to myself, I am a complete goofball that loves to play. I love going for walks, hikes, and even a run, especially with a buff fella that has skills like me. Maybe you could be my playmate? I love playing with other dogs but again, I am sturdy girl so bigger is better for this fit and active chick! As an added bonus, we can find time to snuggle afterwards, I love a good cuddle with a soft blanket and don't care at all about personal space. I am a bit of a neat freak. I like to keep myself clean and I will not be going on the floor. I prefer to do my business outdoors, thank you very much. My crate is a safe space for me. It is a great place for me to focus and find my center. Meditation is very important to me. So if you are serious about being in a committed relationship with a passionate and loving lady, let's meet up so we can see if we could be the match we have both been dreaming of! One night stands need not apply. Apply to adopt this fun loving gal today at www.pawpatroldayton.com/adopt! I am spayed, vaccinated, heartworm negative, and microchipped. Gypsy is spayed, vaccinated, chipped, parasite-free, and ready to find her family! Her adoption fee is $200.

Doofensmertz

Paging Dr. Doofensmertz. This handsome guy has become something of a celebrity around town with fans often stopping and calling him by name. Being that he is such a friendly and personable fella, he is always more than happy to stop and greet his adoring fans. Doofensmertz is particularly eager to meet other dogs and small children and may act himself silly trying to get their attention. Despite his fascination with them, his larger than life personality and belief that they all want to immediately wrestle with all 45-50 pounds of him and that can be overwhelming for smaller or more timid dogs and children. Doofensmertz also desperately wants to play with every living creature including cats or other small animals, however, they really do not prefer his go-to game of chase. Therefore, a home with smaller animals and/or children may not be the best fit for him. Doofensmertz loves to go on walks and does fairly well on the leash. He can struggle to remember not to pull when he sees someone or something that he wants to meet. He does sit nicely when asked before crossing the street. He is also fully house trained. This incredibly social guy absolutely loves to be where the family is which is why his crate is not his favorite place. He does not protest when he has to go in (unless you count his sad puppy-dog eyes) and he does sleep in it throughout the night without a peep. In addition to his incredible good looks, Doofensmertz is very intelligent 3 year old and enjoys some mental stimulation to keep his busy brain engaged and out of trouble. With that intelligence though comes the opportunity for him to learn some fun tricks with the perfect someone who is willing to put the time into the training. If Doofensmertz seems like the right fit for you, please go to www.pawpatroldayton.com/adopt. He is up to date on vaccines, microchipped, heartworm negative, and neutered. Adoption fee is $260.00.

Adoption fee: $260

Mirabel

Mirabel is a sweet little girl. Though shy at first, her true personality comes out once she is comfortable. Be prepared to give her all the attention & cuddles she demands! She wags her tail like a dog when she's happy and it's the cutest thing. She is very playful & competitive (if a cat can be) especially with the teaser wand & laser. She is the first one to the toys every time! She will flip & fly thru the air like a gymnast when trying to reach the teaser! When she's not busy showing off, she likes to snuggle up close & keep you nice and warm. She prefer a quiet home in order to be the happy girl she's meant to be. At just 11 months old, she has so much love to give after she knows she's safe and loved. You may apply to adopt Mirabel at www.pawpatroldayton.com/adopt. Their adoption fee is $75 and she is vaccinated, FIV and FELV tested negative, microchipped and spayed. Many cats do well alone, but they often do great in pairs as well and can benefit from having a feline friend. Because of this, our adoption fees are $75 for one kitten or cat and $100 for two when adopted at the same time.

Adoption fee: $75

Fennec

Rising from the ashes, we bring you Fennec! Fennec was rescued last year from the fires in Estill County, Kentucky. He spent 7 months in a rural shelter before coming to his foster home. Fennec is a hunky bully mix with hazy green eyes, ears as tall as mountains, and a hundred chocolate chip spots. We believe Fennec is about 2 years old, weighing ~45 lbs. He knows some basic commands such as sit, stay, and lay down. We are proud to announce that he is now kennel trained and will go into his kennel without being told. However, Fennec is still learning that playful mouthing is not good-boy behavior and does require the occasional correction. Once comfortable in his environment, he is the perfect balance of playful and cuddly. He loves to be comfortable and will lay on anything soft and warm! Fennec enjoys tanning his booty in the sunshine, chewing on toys, wrestling with his foster siblings, and snuggling on the couch. Fennec gets along with other dogs, large or small, as well as cats. He does need slow and proper introductions to feel at ease with other animals. If Fennec seems like the right fit for you, please go to www.pawpatroldayton.com/adopt. He is up to date on vaccines, microchipped, and neutered. His adoption fee is $210.00.

Adoption fee: $210

Waylon

Howdy! I'm Waylon and I'm ready to lasso my way right to your heart! Just like the legendary Waylon Jennings, I'm here to add a touch of country charm to your life. I'm already the king of playtime. Whether it's chasing feather toys or pouncing on that elusive laser dot, I'm always up for a good time. You'll be able to tell that I'm really enjoying myself when I chirp. After I scoot boot and boogie the day a way, I love to snuggle up right by your side. I don't mind sharing snuggles either, whether it’s a dog or children. As far as cats, I've tried to snuggle up with my current partners in crime but they have yet to accept my peace offering. However, that darn litter box and I have finally made a deal: I accept his welcome as long as he's big enough. I am a young one so I still need assistance with my ambitious attitude to overcome my territory. But don't worry, with the right environment and understanding, I am on my way to becoming your paw-some companion! If you would like to welcome Waylon to your family, please apply at pawpatroldayton.com/adopt. My adoption fee is 75 dollars- I come fully loaded with vaccinated, FIV and FELV tested negative, microchipped, and neutered.

Adoption fee: $75

Elmer

Elmer is an eleven pound Chi mix that is full of love and kisses... but only after he feels comfortable enough not to bite your face off. I mean... he is a chihuahua after all. All joking aside, we believe him to be approximately 8 years young with a zest for life. Even though he has been said to not like all men, the men he's met so far he's been okay with. He did better while taking pictures with Santa, than most children. Elmer is likely to get nervous at first in his new home and will need proper time to settle in before becoming best friends. Proper decompression is the key to his success. He can be easily spooked with fast movements but builds trust quickly once he realizes that he is safe from harm. Once you are in... you are totally in and Elmer shows his affection by covering you in kisses and being super snuggly with his cuddles. He's a dog that doesn't know how to hold his licker... so be prepared for lots of PDA. He is also happy to just sit in your lap or lay in the crook of your arm to take a nap. Elmer is reluctant to getting in his crate, once he is in it, he will bark and grumble for a short time but will eventually settle down. When he is let out of his crate, he will jump up while walking to the door to go outside to do his business. Elmer gets along fine with all dogs, big and small in his foster home. He did some marking when first arriving to his foster home, this stopped after one week of his arrival. Elmer's teeth look really good for his age, very little tarter and "decent" breath. He is definitely a dog that needs time to adjust to change, but once he loves you, he loves you with all his heart. If you would like to meet this cute little guy and possibly add him to your family, please complete an application at PawPatrolDayton.com/adopt. His adoption fee is $210. Elmer is neutered, current on vaccinations, Heartworm negative, and he is microchipped.

Adoption fee: $210

Stitch

Meet Stitch, a kitten whose journey from shy observer to playful companion is just waiting for the right guide. With a spirit as vibrant as his curiosity, Stitch is slowly unveiling the layers of his personality, showing us that every moment of patience is a step towards a beautiful friendship. Stitch has begun to embrace the joy of play, his eyes light up at the prospect of a new adventure. He's mastered the art of the litter box, making him a tidy and conscientious addition to any household. Food time for Stitch is a solo affair; he prefers to dine alone, showing a bit of hiss if his space isn't respected. Holding him isn't on his wishlist—yet. With new faces, Stitch chooses the path of the cautious observer, opting to watch from the shadows until his heart decides it’s safe to venture out. Stitch needs a forever home that mirrors the patience and understanding he requires. A tranquil environment, perhaps with adults or families with older children who appreciate a slow and steady approach to bonding, would be ideal for him. He seeks a companion who understands that trust is built on the foundation of time and gentle encouragement. If you believe in the power of patience and the beauty of earning a kitten's trust and affection, then you might just be the hero of Stitch's story. He promises to be a loyal companion, filling your home with playfulness and purrs, all in good time. Stitch is neutered and up to date on vaccinations. His adoption fee is $75.

Pebbles

Pebbles is a shy, timid girl with a heart of gold. She came to us with two breaks in her tail and it isn't known how she got them even though she's only 6 months old. Her future humans will need to be gentle and patient with her, as she doesn't trust people easily. Although, she has begun to come around quite a bit and loves ear scratches that she asks for politely with her dainty little meow. Pebbles is purrfectly comfortable around other cats and would prefer a house with other cats. Pebbles wants nothing more than a loving, affectionate family she can trust! Pebbles likes to play, zoom around, and sunbathe. She is a litterbox pro and a good eater! Pebbles is up-to-date on vaccinations, spayed, FIV and FELV tested negative, and microchipped. Her adoption fee is $75. Pebbles hopes you will apply to adopt her today at www.pawpatroldayton.com/adopt!

Sassie

Don't let her name fool you, Sassie is all but sassy! She is a super sweet, gorgeous calico, or tri-colored female with striking yellow eyes. Her fur is super soft and thick, she does not shed a ton, but does shed some. It will take some time for Sassie to get fully acclimated to her surroundings. She may play hide and seek with you during her first week or two. Once she warms up to you, she will roll on her back to get as much petting as possible. Sassie loves attention and enjoys looking out the window. She does not love other cats, so if she would have any in her adopted home, she will need your patience with taking her time to adjust. We are unsure of her likeliness to be around dogs. Sassy is a medium sized girl, eats well and uses her litterbox. She is updated on her feline vaccinations, spayed, and microchipped. Her adoption fee is 75 dollars. Please complete an application at PawPatrolDayton.com if you would like to meet this very special girl.

Carmy

Meet The Bear pups! If you have seen the show, The Bear, Carmy is the most like her namesake. She is wild and unpredictable. She is definitely the most chompy and doesn't care in the slightest. She has the shortest hair and is the tiniest lady. The Bear pups are typical pups that go wild for food. They play well, but sometimes are rough with each other and desperately want to play with the cat in the home. They enjoy playing with their toys and the big dogs in the home as well. In general The Bear puppies are getting better at being in the kennel but require further crate training. They love to be with people and are snuggle bugs! Like typical puppies they are working on potty training and they are getting better about not going in the kennel. The Bear puppies are not picky with what they chew (drywall, carpet, cords, furniture all included) and need proper training and supervision. All puppies will be spayed/neutered, microchipped, and UTD on vaccinations. Adoption fee is $360. Please go to www.pawpatroldayton.com/adopt to fill out an application.

Heidi

Heidi is a very shy girl at first, but once she warms up to you, she is so friendly and affectionate. Heidi and her sister recently came into rescue after their owner passed away. We believe that she is approximately 6 years old and was well cared for and loved in her past. She will hide from you until she is comfortable and can trust her new humans. Heidi is easily enticed by a can of wet food cracking open, so if she is hiding all you need to do is grab a can and crack it open. Heidi is not much for playing like a kitten would be, but she does love the laser light game of chase! She would prefer to be the queen of her castle and not share your love with others! You can apply to adopt Heidi at PawPatrolDayton.com. Her adoption fee is 75 dollars and includes up to date vaccinations, microchip and spayed.

Adoption fee: $75

Wilbur

Are you an Orville, looking for your Wilbur!? Look no further, my friend. Meet Mr. Wilbur- whom we believe to be around 8 years old and a Lab Retriever. Wilbur is a laid back sort of guy. Nothing seems to bother him, not even all the cats in his current foster home. Wilbur loves to take walks and get baths- but not as much as he loves food-this guy will keep a close eye on you as you eat and gladly clean up any crumbs! We would definitely recommend a slow feeder for this hungry boy! Wilbur is a great companion and will make sure to protect you against strangers! Wilbur is not afraid to use his voice. He will absolutely make his new owner feel very protected and safe. If you are ready to take flight and find your next best friend, then come meet Wilbur! You may apply to adopt Wilbur at www.pawpatroldayton.com/adopt. Their adoption fee is $150 and is vaccinated, heartworm tested, microchipped and neutered.

Sallee

Sallee is a 5 year old female that we believe to be a Whippet mix. She currently weighs about 19 lbs. Sallee seems to have somewhat of a split personality, at least when it comes to her energy level (she is always sweet!). She is sometimes energetic; zooming around the house at her top speed and she also enjoys taking long walks. Her other personality comes out when she is ready to chill and feeling content, she will snuggle up beside you on the couch for as long as you let her. She enjoys her walks and is getting better on a leash than she was a week ago. Sallee has met several other dogs and some kids during her walks, she has not shown any issues during her socialization. Sallee is also ok with her foster home's residential cat. Sallee has not been much of a barker since she came into foster care, so far, she has only barked a few times. She is ok with being in a crate, although she sometimes needs to be bribed to go inside or will need picked up and put in it. She'll whine a little when first put in it but then she will calm down. Sallee came to us with no training, she is doing well learning her doggie manners in her foster home and has come a long way in the short time that she has been with us. All in all, Sallee is a sweet, energetic, fun-loving little girl! If you feel that you need Sallee in your life, like she needs you in hers, please complete an application at www.pawpatroldayton.com/adopt. She is up to date on vaccines, microchipped, and spayed. Sallee's adoption fee is 260 dollars.
