Volunteer of the Month

November 2019 Volunteer of the Month - Scott

In November, we want to give thanks to Scott, the spouse of one of our long-term fosters. Earlier this year, he decided volunteering wasn’t something he was going to be left out of and he jumped straight in! Here is what Scott had to say:

“Watching Ricki foster dogs looked like so much fun!! Every time I would come up from Jacksonville to spend time at home, she always had a different dog to play with and love on. Ricki had just taken Love in just before Christmas last year and watching her have her puppies safe in our house while we got to experience all of it was amazing!!! Playing with Love and her puppies made me realize how special it is to be a foster family. After traveling back to Jacksonville, I would check in regularly to see the puppies and Love.

Ricki and I decided Love was going to be our “foster fail” since Ricki had already passed the “can’t adopt the first three dogs you foster” rule. We adopted Love, now Anna, and I got to see firsthand the adoption process that Paw Patrol has in place. I was impressed!!! The animal’s wellbeing was definitely the most important thing.

After leaving my job at Boeing, and moving back to Dayton, I wanted to help Ricki take care of the foster animals. I decided to get involved and I have not regretted it for a minute. I enjoy getting together with the other fosters at the events we have. I especially enjoyed the training classes we went to for Rexy and I learned so much.”

Scott not only fosters dogs, but he is always willing to help in any way needed, from events to transport to picking up supplies. He is a true asset to our organization and we are very happy to call him our own!
