August 2019 Volunteer of the Month - Mindy
This month we would like to take a minute to honor Mindy as our featured volunteer. Mindy adopted both of her dogs from Paw Patrol previously and once she decided to volunteer, she jumped in with both feet! Mindy has been a huge asset to the organization helping with countless tasks and has even begun fostering pups. Here is a little about Mindy:
“I am a lifelong Miami Valley resident (raised in Jamestown) and I live in Miami Township with my boyfriend, David, our two Paw Patrol Dayton Alumni, Stormageddon and Sunny, and our my two cats, Walt and Honey. I have wanted to give back to the community but never found the right fit. I began following Paw Patrol Dayton on Facebook when a friend shared posts. I had to have Stormy when I saw Maggie’s litter. Two years later we fell for Sunny on sight. I knew we couldn’t adopt them all! I took the plunge and joined a volunteer info session. I didn’t know what I could offer but I knew I wanted to be a part of what Paw Patrol Dayton was doing.
I enjoy doing transport, picking up pups at shelters and bringing them to their foster families. Adoption counseling is another favorite volunteer activity! This summer I’ve had the opportunity to help out at multiple events either as an extra handler, extra hand, or for a specific job. Wherever I can make a difference, I try.”
Thank you so much, Mindy, for everything you do to help the dogs of Paw Patrol!
