March 2018 Volunteer Spotlight

This month we are recognizing Sondra as our volunteer of the month.  Sondra is one of our dedicated fosters and we are very thankful she does what she does.  She has fostered a variety of our dogs, many of them who were seniors or had special needs.  Here is a little bit about Sondra:

Like everyone involved I love dogs.  I have always wanted to do something to help the homeless and unwanted dogs of the world.  When the opportunity arose to get involved with Paw Patrol I knew I had to do it.  It has been one year since I started and the time has flown by.  I only wish I could do more.

I am very fortunate that my two fur babies have allowed me to foster.  They have been very welcoming to each foster I have brought home.  They seem to know they need us.  There were three days when I did not have a foster and it felt something was missing.  I knew at that point I would continue as long as I possibly could.  I take the small, old and/or sick babies as they need extra love and care and I can give them that.  As usual I root for the underdog.

Thanks to Faith Green and Oscar the grouch for bringing me into the group.  I knew when we gave Oscar the hair cut that took all day and he was adopted so soon after that I could help make a difference.  I have had a couple fosters that I thought to myself “who would adopt this poor baby”.  Seeing them get adopted is one of the greatest warm fuzzy feelings there is.  Knowing that I helped put a helpless baby in a furever home makes all the work worth it. Seeing how they settle in and overcome the pain and heartache they have been through and knowing they will not suffer like that again is the only reward needed to keep me going.

It is an honor to be part of Paw Patrol and volunteer of the month.  Kudos to all involved!
