Anna Kennedy is July’s Volunteer of the Month! She is one of our awesome dog fosters and also helps with transport, adoptions, events, adoption videos, and when some of our dogs need a little training. When asked what made her start fostering dogs, this is what she said:
“Volunteering in a local shelter’s Behavior Modification Program, I saw hundreds of dogs come in that were shut down, in shock due to separation from the life they knew, and scared of the noisy and institutional kennel environment. Unfortunately, their time would be up before they would have time to adjust enough to pass the test given so that they may be placed on the adoption floor. It was there I saw how vital fostering was to giving those dogs a chance at a happily ever after. I then began to open my home to dogs that otherwise would not make it out without rescue due to fearful behavior or health. Each of them has left paw prints on my heart and there are times I don’t want to let them go. I’ve been asked many times how I do it and not keep them all. It is actually very simple. I let go so I can save the next one. I know I am making a difference and it is one of the most rewarding gifts I can give! Paw Patrol makes it easy to foster too. I always feel 100% supported and appreciated and couldn’t ask for a better group to belong to!”
Thank you, Anna, for your dedication to Paw Patrol Dayton. We are lucky to have you!
