August 2018 Volunteer Spotlight

We are honored to announce Michelle as our August Volunteer of the Month. Michelle is a dedicated volunteer who mostly chooses to transport dogs from high-kill shelters to safety with a Paw Patrol foster. Recently, we asked Michelle why she chooses to volunteer for us and she said,

“Paw Patrol has such a dedicated and passionate group of volunteers. I feel fortunate to be involved with such an amazing group. Helping improve the lives of dogs in the community” is the mission of Paw Patrol. Helping a family who may have fallen on hard times by assisting with food or other necessities. Giving shelter to a dog who has none and helping educate the owners. Not to mention the countless rescued dogs. I was able to remove some dogs from a bad situation and they went to Paw Patrol foster homes where they learned to trust people and feel loved and were eventually adopted. I’m forever grateful to them.”

Michelle retired from the Ohio Department of Natural Resources in 2017. She now has a part-time job with The Kroger Co. and is on the Board of Commissioners for Greene County Parks and Trails. She lives in Cedarville with her husband, Shawn, and 5 dogs – Ben, Buddy, Boomer, Bo, and Jojo. Michelle also has two grown children, Josh and Lauren (and son-in-law Josh), and in her spare time she enjoys hiking with her dogs and is an avid cyclist.
