During this month of giving, we want to give thanks to one of our dedicated fosters, Michelle. She has taken in five of our dogs in a short time and provided a wonderful foster home for them. Here is a bit about Michelle:
Michelle says: I’m a mom of 2 sons ages 26 & 22, married to Ted for 28 years. In March 2018, we moved from a new neighborhood in Miamisburg to 5 acres outside of Jamestown for one reason: dogs. We’d decided that at this point in our lives if we didn’t do it now, we may never do it. I wanted to foster dogs who were in danger of being euthanized & get them adopted into their “furever” homes. This dream finally has come true with Paw Patrol. This amazing organization has given us the opportunity to love on dogs until they find that right home.
I babysit from home for three sensational boys that I just love. I’ve been babysitting for about 12 years and still love it. My husband Ted has worked at DMAX for over 25 years, hand building the Duramax Diesel engine, along with our 26 yr old son. Our 22 yr old son works for Good Samaritan House, a halfway house for convicted felons just released from prison & is an ordained minister. We’re both very active volunteers at our church, The First Heavy Metal Church of Christ. You’ll see Ted driving the van for those who need a ride on Sundays & you’ll find me at the merch counter, doing greeting at the front doors, working at the cafe, hanging out with the kids in our version of Sunday School, Kids Rock, & holding babies in our new nursery.
Paw Patrol has been great for us. We get to have these precious dogs to play with & nurture for a time, then they get to be adopted. We’ve had two successful adoptions and look forward to many, many more in the future. We love going to any events we’re able to. We love spreading the word about this great organization so that more dogs can get adopted. We are honored and privileged to be part of such a great group of volunteers. Thank you to all of you that have helped us along our journey!
Thank you Michelle and family for all your hard work! We (and the dogs) appreciate it!
