Deborah is one of our long-time fosters. She has a preference for poodles, but has branched out and taken a Boston Terrier and even a Chinese Crested! Though she works long hours, Deb always finds time to spoil her foster dogs, including making their own dog food. Recently, we asked Deb to describe herself and why she volunteers her time for Paw Patrol:
I’m semi-retired; I worked in a factory for 30 years, then retired and took care of my grandparents until they passed. I then went back to work (to pay for my hobby). I worked at a couple of photography places for a while and decided to start my own business. I did that for ten years, but business got too slow for me so I got a job doing inventory at different retail stores. Now this keeps me busy and has crazy hours. I sometimes get up as early at 2:30 am to be at work at 3:30 am to travel to a store. I sometimes put in long hours but it keeps me on my toes.
My favorite hobby is scuba diving and I have traveled all over the world checking out what’s under the water. I also enjoy traveling to these places. I still do a little photography, but mainly underwater.
I decided to start fostering due to my love of animals (I like animals way better they most people). My heart goes out to these little ones who have been abused, left alone or dumped on the side of the road. I love my fur babies and thought I could love some fosters who have had a rough way to go.
Deborah does an amazing job volunteering her time, energy, and skills to our organization and we are truly thankful to have call her a Paw Patrol foster mom!
